Mobile App for BMCC Multimedia Students
Project description:
"Creative Corner" is a concept forum app where BMCC students in the Multimedia Programming and Design major can do a variety of things including asking questions regarding how to use complex software such as Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, among others. In addition, they can post their own artworks/portfolios to receive critique and feedback from their peers. Moreover, post about internships and job opportunities. As well as form creative collaborations for class or side projects.
Role: Product Designer
Timeline: 4 weeks
User Problems:
There are two main problems that the app aims to solve. One is the limited access of help in the BMCC Website, even though there is information about lab hours and tutoring resources, sometimes it’s hard to find it. Furthermore, students don’t have much time to share creative ideas and feedback with each other outside of the classroom.
Purpose:
The goal is to create a place where BMCC Multimedia students can receive quick help and support.
Design Process:
I started by looking at already existing apps/websites with similar formats such as Reddit and Facebook groups, so I could get inspiration of what layouts they implement and develop sketches with user flows.
UI Design & System:
After drafting my ideas on paper, I started working on the visual identity, user interface design, and high-fidelity prototype. This is the final version:
